Tamarac Commissioner Krystal Patterson has introduced a new aid program for residents of District 3 to help with housing costs. The District 3 Residential Assistance Program offers up to $1,000 to assist with utility bills, HOA and condo fees, mortgage, or rent payments. The program is funded by $50,000.

According to the City of Tamarac website, Commissioner Patterson launched the program to support vulnerable groups, including seniors and public sector workers. "This program is about providing financial relief during tough economic times," Patterson said. "We are ensuring that more residents can access these funds without unnecessary obstacles."

An application event was held yesterday at the Tamarac Community Center, where city staff assisted applicants. To qualify, residents must provide proof of residency in District 3. Approved funds will be paid directly to utility providers or mortgage companies on behalf of the residents.

For those who missed the event, city staff is available to help with the application process. Information about the program, eligibility, and application procedures is available on the City of Tamarac's website, or by calling (954) 597-3460 for assistance.
