A tragic vehicle incident resulted in the death of a teenager on Cape Cod yesterday. According to NBC Boston, state police responded to the scene on Route 28 north in Falmouth, where they found a vehicle off the roadway with significant damage.
The crash occurred around 4 p.m. and left one of the occupants dead at the scene. The individual was found underneath the vehicle after it went down an embankment. Officials reported that the vehicle sustained "catastrophic damage," as per Mass Live report. A section of Route 28 north was temporarily shut down to allow for emergency response and investigation.
MassLive reported that one of the other two injured individuals was airlifted to a trauma center, while the other was transported by ambulance to a hospital in the Boston area.
The office of Cape and Islands District Attorney Robert Galibois issued a statement, "District Attorney Galibois’s thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the individuals involved during this incredibly difficult time," as noted by Mass Live. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
