
Early Wednesday, Chicago police apprehended three men following a high-speed chase involving a stolen SUV that came to a halt on the city's North Side after the vehicle crashed into a concrete post. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the encounter began around 12:50 a.m. in Lincoln Park when patrol officers noticed the beige SUV in the 300 block of West Fullerton Avenue and attempted a traffic stop which then led to pursuit as the driver sped away in an effort to evade law enforcement.
The chase concluded with the SUV colliding into a post in the 2100 block of West Fullerton Avenue the impact led to the arrest of the vehicle's three occupants, as ABC 7 Chicago reports. Two of the men were deemed in good condition post-accident, necessitating precautionary medical evaluation at a local hospital, and alongside their arrests, two firearms were discovered at the scene by police, subsequently seized as evidence.
Details on the identities of the implicated men and the nature of the charges to be filed remain undisclosed as the situation is handled by local authorities; the legal process is in progress to determine the appropriate charges.
