A violent altercation allegedly spurred by a $50 debt has led to the hospitalization of one man and the arrest of three suspects in Tooele County. The Tooele County Sheriff's Office reported that the victim was assaulted and suffered multiple stab wounds following a confrontation over money owed, as detailed by ABC4. Arrest documents note that Tyrell James Brady, 39, and Stephanie Nicole Gilmore, 33, are accused of carrying out the stabbing, while Kimberly Crinan, 30, is charged with obstruction of justice after initially providing false information to the authorities.
Arriving at the Mountain West Medical Center with severe stab wounds to the shoulder, neck, and limbs was the male victim, subsequently transported to the University of Utah Hospital for further treatment. Investigators who initially received misleading information from Crinan about where she picked up the victim used data from a tracking device to uncover the truth. As obtained by KSL, the stabbing is believed to have occurred at Crinan's residence, not at a lounge as initially claimed.
Both Brady and Gilmore, now facing serious charges including attempted murder and aggravated assault, have purportedly denied stabbing the victim during the incident. However, their claims are contradicted by evidence, "blood stains were observed on his driver's door handle and on the inside of the driver's door," pointing to Brady's involvement, as stated by KSL. Video footage acquired from neighbors also depicted a fight outside Crinan's house with audible encouragement for violence and quick departure, adding to the narrative pieced together by detectives.
The tracking data analyzed by investigators showed Crinan's vehicle, involved in a prior investigation, rushed from her home to the hospital, which never passed by the lounge she initially mentioned. Crinan eventually admitted to not telling the truth after first stating the stabbing occurred following a confrontation outside her home, as per her eventual confession shared by KUTV. As it stands, all three suspects remain detained at the Tooele County Detention Center, while the investigation continues.
