Two fatal crashes occurred in Claiborne and Webster Parish, as confirmed by Louisiana State Police Troop G, each resulting in a tragic loss of life under varying circumstances. In Claiborne Parish, 66-year-old Terry Ford of Homer lost control of his 2015 Chevrolet Cruze on Louisiana Highway 2 on Thursday; despite being properly restrained, he was pronounced deceased after being taken to a local hospital. Webster Parish also mourned the loss of 57-year-old Donnie Womack of Logansport, who was ejected and killed when his 2012 Ford F-150 overturned on U.S. Highway 371 in the early morning hours.
According to the Louisiana State Police, Ford was traveling east when for unknown reasons the vehicle veered off the road and struck a tree, the accident occurred around 6:30 p.m. near Bella-Vista Road and no impairment is said to be suspected at this stage of the ongoing investigation. Womack's crash, which happened at about 1:45 a.m., appears to have roots in suspected impairment, his vehicle left the roadway, hit a private driveway, and overturned Womack was unrestrained during the fatal incident.
