Two male juveniles have been arrested and charged with the armed robbery of a 55-year-old man in Chicago. According to the Chicago Police Department's report, the suspects, aged 17 and 16, were apprehended yesterday after allegedly committing the crime less than thirty minutes earlier.

The incident took place in the 1900 block of W. Cornelia Ave, with the offenders being captured nearby at locations on N. Leavitt St and W. Diversey Pkwy; the older teen faces charges including one felony count of armed robbery, one felony count of aggravated unauthorized use of a weapon on vehicle with a loaded gun and no FOID, and one misdemeanor for criminal trespass to a vehicle while the younger is charged with similar offenses, though his aggravated UUW charge specifies the person is under 21, both were reportedly found inside a stolen vehicle, adding to the seriousness of the situation.

In detailing the charges, it's been reported that the 17-year-old was found in possession of a high capacity magazine and metal piercing bullets, the sale and possession of which are prohibited.

The arrested individuals have been processed and charged, but as of present, no further details have been shared by authorities.
