Two individuals found themselves in danger yesterday when their boat started sinking in Biscayne Bay. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, the Sheriff's Office, and the U.S. Coast Guard responded quickly, as reported by WSVN. The distressed boat was located near Tahiti Beach Island, where footage showed the rescue of the two boaters.
The boaters used their cellphones to provide rescuers with an accurate location, helping to speed up the operation. As the boat began sinking, they jumped into the water. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue was able to locate and safely rescue the individuals.
Local 10 News reported that one man is being rescued near Coconut Grove and Dinner Key Marina. After the rescue, the man who had stayed afloat declined medical attention.
