Two individuals, Jeremiah Jordan and Shanna Walton-Smith, are facing first-degree murder charges following a fatal shooting incident in Chicago. The Chicago Police Department reports that both suspects were apprehended in the early hours of March 8, 2025, after allegedly taking the life of an 18-year-old female and injuring a 38-year-old male. Jordan, 24, and Walton-Smith, 19, were both captured in separate locations in the South Side of the city.
The shooting in question happened just before midnight on March 7, inside a vehicle located on E. 21st St., where the young woman was found dead and the man was left wounded. The sequence of their actions that night was cold, calculated, and ending in tragedy. Beyond the murder counts, Jordan is also facing charges of attempted murder, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, and fleeing from a police officer; Walton-Smith's rap sheet after the incident comprises murder and attempted murder charges.
Both suspects appeared for a detention hearing today at 2600 S. California.
