In a brazen burglary attempt, an unidentified driver plowed their vehicle into Chicago's Cannabist Dispensary, located at 4758 North Milwaukee Ave., early Wednesday morning, causing severe damage to the storefront, according to NBC 5. Police reports indicate that the crash, which shattered the dispensary's front windows and left behind a chaotic scene, occurred just after 2 a.m., but the suspect or suspects fled without being apprehended.
The aggressive entry into the establishment raised alarms, and responding officers swiftly searched the premises for any perpetrators. though none were found, it wasn't clear if the burglars made off with any stolen goods, while the area where cannabis products are kept reportedly remained secure, according to CBS Chicago.
As of Wednesday morning, no arrests had been made in connection with the break-in, and detectives from Area Five are working diligently on the case. Both CBS Chicago and NBC 5 report that the vehicle used in the attempted robbery was an SUV.
