Starting Monday, March 24, 2025, motorists who frequent LA 1031 northbound and southbound in Livingston Parish will need to prepare for roadwork disruptions. The traffic signal work, part of project H.012639.6, is scheduled to commence at 8:00 PM on that day, with an end date pegged for Friday, March 28, 2025, at 6:00 AM, weather permitting.
To accommodate the necessary work, there will be a partial closure of the roadway, specifically affecting wide loads, which will be restricted to 12 feet. During this period, travelers looking to bypass the work zone are advised to utilize alternative routes, which have been suggested. Those heading east on LA 1030 may opt to take LA 16 north to LA 1026, then east to reconnect with LA 1030. Conversely, for those bound west, LA 1026 north to LA 16, then south will allow them to rejoin LA 1030.
As reported by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development in a recent announcement, the affected stretch starts at STEPHEN DR and runs all the way to SUNSET DR. This suggests that local traffic in the immediate vicinity of these cross streets will likely experience the heaviest delays and disruptions during the work period. Commuters and residents are urged to plan ahead to minimize inconvenience from the roadwork. Notably, this essential maintenance aims to improve traffic safety and infrastructure.
