Attention Shreveport drivers: A lane closure may impact your commute. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has announced that today, the right lane on southbound LA 523 (Line Avenue) near the railroad crossing, just north of Ashley Ridge Blvd, will be closed from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This closure is needed for work on the railroad crossing's advance warning signage.
This work will take place about 0.25 miles north of the LA 3132 interchange. If you prefer a visual reference or need to pull up something on your GPS before heading out, the DOTD has provided a map, available on their announcement page.
The purpose of this closure is to maintain signage that ensures drivers are informed and safe when approaching important intersections, such as railway crossings. While the lane reduction may cause temporary inconvenience, it is necessary for safety improvements.
