A student at Wellington Community High School has passed away after a medical emergency on campus. According to WPBF, the Palm Beach County School District confirmed the incident led to a limited movement protocol on campus while emergency services responded. The student was later pronounced dead after being transported.
The student's identity has not been released to respect the family's request for privacy. Wellington High School Principal Cara Gorham expressed condolences to the family, stating, "I have spoken with the family and conveyed our deepest condolences on behalf of the Wellington High School community. In the coming days, I will share more information about ways for us to support them during this difficult time," in a CBS12 report. The school is providing counseling services to help students and staff cope with the loss.
