West Palm Beach police arrested a local DJ early Tuesday morning after witnesses reported he discharged a firearm inside the City Center Garage. Mauricio Andres Quintana Zamora is now facing charges for the incident which, according to police, occurred at the corner of Banyan Boulevard and Dixie Highway just before 5 a.m.

A security guard detailed the harrowing moments when she observed a man, later identified as Zamora, raise a gun and fire a single shot at the garage ceiling. In her statement, the guard said Zamora was accompanied by two women at the time. The report, highlighted by CBS12, noted Zamora proceeded to leave the scene without the women, who were found in an emotional state inside an SUV by the same security guard.

The women, who spoke only Spanish, were unable to provide further information to authorities. WPBF reported that video evidence from the parking structure corroborated the security guard's story, showing Zamora in a distinctive camo hat and "Miami" jacket, attire he was seen wearing in multiple photos on his social media page.

Officers found a probable cause to arrest the local DJ after reviewing the guard's sworn statement and the security footage. Fortunately, no one was struck by the gunfire. Zamora is currently charged with discharging a firearm in public, an act that transforms spaces of communal refuge into zones of danger and distress; a reality within which the West Palm Beach community now finds themselves reconciling.
