The City of West Palm Beach is hosting a series of town hall meetings to engage residents with Mayor Keith A. James and the city's new police chief, Antonio "Tony" Araujo. These meetings are intended to introduce Chief Araujo, address public safety concerns, and discuss the direction of the West Palm Beach Police Department, as per the City of West Palm Beach website.
Mayor James emphasized the importance of open dialogue for ensuring safety and well-being. Chief Araujo, with nearly 43 years in law enforcement, stressed the role of community involvement in public safety, aiming to build trust and stronger partnerships through these meetings.
The town hall meetings are scheduled at various locations, all starting at 5:30 p.m. The first meeting will be at Gaines Park Community Center on April 9 followed by sessions at the Center for Creative Education on April 15, Flagler Gallery at City Hall on April 22, and South Olive Park Community Center on May 6.
Residents are encouraged to attend to discuss public safety, community initiatives, and changes within the police department. More information can be found on the West Palm Beach website.
