Early Sunday in Hyannis, a Yarmouth man was arrested and charged with murder after a fatal shooting in a parking lot. Barnstable police responded to a call around 1:00 a.m. and found a 41-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the head, according to Boston 25 News.

Despite quick efforts by officers and transport by Hyannis Fire and Rescue, the victim died at Cape Cod Hospital. A witness led police to stop a dark-colored pickup truck nearby. A 36-year-old Yarmouth man was detained and charged with murder after being found close to the crime scene.

According to 7NEWS, the suspect is currently being held without bail, and the Cape and Islands District Attorney's Office has labeled the shooting as an "isolated incident." The arraignment of the suspect is scheduled for Monday morning in Barnstable District Court. 

The victim's name has not been released. The suspect's identity is also being withheld as the investigation continues.
