DJ, who was diagnosed with brain cancer at the age of seven, has not let his health challenges deter him from working toward his goal of becoming a law enforcement officer. In a gesture of support and recognition, more than 900 law enforcement agencies have sworn DJ in as an honorary member, with the Kenner Police Department joining the ranks most recently, according to a Facebook post from Kenner Police.
During a special event held in New Orleans, DJ's dream was further honored as FBI-LEEDA's Annual Executive Training Conference hosted a swearing-in ceremony. The Kenner Police Department affirmed, "What a privilege it was to meet Davarjaye “DJ” Daniel today!! DJ is the most inspiring 13-year-old and has a special place in his heart for law enforcement!" DJ was bestowed with the title of official junior officer, and the KPD made sure he received a badge, patch, and plenty of KPD-themed merchandise. The support for DJ is a testament to his unwavering spirit and the community's backing of his aspirations.
Previously, DJ's journey took him to the nation's capital, where he was named an honorary Secret Service agent by then-President Donald Trump.
