A 16-year-old male has been charged with multiple felony offenses following his alleged involvement in an armed robbery and vehicular hijacking, as reported by the Chicago Police Department. The juvenile was apprehended on Tuesday, in the vicinity of the 1100 block of S. Hamilton St., and faces two felony counts of armed robbery, two felony counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and one felony count of aggravated vehicular hijacking with a firearm.
Authorities linked the young suspect to an incident that occurred on March 16, where a 17-year-old male and an 18-year-old female were allegedly robbed and battered in the 9100 block of S. Commercial Ave, located in Chicago's 4th District, after the heinous crime, the juvenile fled with the vehicle at gunpoint, leading to an intensive search and subsequent arrest, as per the Chicago Police Department.
While the investigation is ongoing, no further information has been made available at this time, the Chicago Police Department stated.
