Grammy Award-winning rapper and Atlanta's own, Michael S. 'Killer Mike' Render has been recognized with a Senate resolution, thanks to efforts by Sen. Kenya Wicks. During a special Atlanta Day celebration on April 4, Wicks paid homage to Render for his contributions to music, politics, and community empowerment in Georgia.
Render’s commitment to economic equity is perhaps best encapsulated in the creation of Greenwood, a digital banking platform he co-founded aimed at bolstering financial prospects for historically underserved communities. Despite Greenwood's mission to dismantle economic disparities, Sen. “Killer Mike has profoundly impacted Atlanta not only through music but also through philanthropy and community service," Wicks praised during the presentation of the resolution, according to the Senate Press.
