Yesterday, Baptist Health initiated the construction of its new facility in Pembroke Pines, marking a significant expansion in their healthcare services in Broward County. According to Local 10, the proposed facility will sprawl across nearly 61,000 square feet, consolidating various medical specialties and emergency services under a single three-story structure.
The new center is not just a beacon of health and wellness but also an economic stimulant, providing job opportunities for the community. With the construction underway, the Pembroke Pines facility is anticipated to generate roughly 100 jobs, as reported by SFBJ Real Estate. Promising a continuum of care that is both specialized and accessible, the integrated emergency department will anchor the new development.
In a statement obtained by Local 10, Nancy Batista-Rodriguez, CEO of Baptist Outpatient Services, emphasized the convenience and coordination of care as paramount. "We've been part of here in Broward County for many years and really now it’s bringing our specialties our medical specialties and that access to care that’s so important with a freestanding emergency department and really having that coordination of care that you can have all of these services under one roof and really bringing convenience to the patient," she said.
Baptist Health is set to open a new medical center in early 2027.
