As Bay Area residents prepare to embrace a warmer and drier work week, the National Weather Service in San Francisco has announced a pattern shift poised to bring sunshine and higher temperatures. According to the NWS San Francisco forecast, after the morning fog clears, locals can expect temperatures to rise to 10 degrees warmer than the weekend, with inland areas enjoying mid to upper 70s. Meanwhile, a shallow marine layer will maintain cooler temperatures in the low 60s along the coast.
The National Weather Service has also informed the public of an upcoming systems upgrade during this weather transition. According to a social media post by NWS Bay Area, essential maintenance scheduled for tomorrow until Tuesday will affect their services, including the NOAA Weather Radio's temporary shutdown and some text products' unavailability. They assure that routine forecasts and warnings will still be issued through service backup offices during this period. Nevertheless, they apologized for the inconvenience this necessary upgrade might cause residents and users of their services.

Regarding immediate conditions, aviation and marine advisories have been issued. For aviation, MVFR and occasional IFR conditions are reported, with a chance for fog leading into Monday morning affecting visibility. "West wind 5 to 15 knots today and tonight, becoming light and variable by Monday morning," as stated on the NWS San Francisco's aviation section. In marine areas, northwestern winds will create potentially hazardous seas across the outer waters as a high-pressure system builds offshore, shifting later in the week as the high-pressure weakens and an upper-level trough moves in from the northwest.
