A Belle Glade couple is facing serious charges after an altercation at a local woman's home on Sunday, where a son was choked and a mother was threatened at gunpoint, as detailed in a probable cause affidavit. The Palm Beach Sheriff's Office responded to the scene of the domestic dispute after being alerted at approximately 10:19 p.m., according to CBS12.

According to the victim's account, her son's father, Elijah McClorin, and his girlfriend, Tomiah Duhart, arrived uninvited to discuss issues concerning their son. An argument stemming from jealousy issues then escalated when Duhart allegedly choked the son, as CBS12 detailed. The mother, Larnaish Parker tried to intervene, but during the scuffle, McClorin reportedly kicked the son in the back.

Parker recounted to the deputies that in the midst of the altercation, she heard Duhart instruct McClorin to retrieve her gun from the car. Parker witnessed as McClorin handed Duhart the firearm, which was then pointed at her, as she threatened to shoot, as per the report by WPBF. Following the threats, McClorin and Duhart fled the scene before law enforcement arrived.

PBSO officers observed and noted the physical evidence of the assault, with the son showing "scratches, redness and abrasions" around his neck and back, as WPBF stated. After initially denying the incident and hanging up when contacted by deputies, Duhart and McClorin were found and apprehended. McClorin's defense, as he claimed the situation grew heated after his son disrespected him or which, led to the confrontation turning physical, as CBS12 reported.

The charges faced by the couple include aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and battery for McClorin, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and battery by strangulation for Duhart, as further explained by CBS12. This incident has shaken the Belle Glade community as it awaits the unfolding of these violent allegations in court proceedings.
