Boston's Dorchester community witnessed the opening of a new Rainbow Adult Day Health Care Center, a place designed to serve the needs of local seniors. Members of the Boston Police Department (BPD) from District C-11, including Captain Steven Sweeney, were present to join in the celebration of the center's second location being inaugurated.
During the event, Boston officers were allowed to mingle with the new facility’s staff and meet some of the seniors who will be benefitting from the center’s offerings. According to a statement obtained by the Boston Police Department News, the officers took this moment to build stronger ties with the community and gain insights into the various types of support services that the center is poised to provide.
The Rainbow Adult Day Health Care Center’s mission, which focuses on the well-being of seniors, resonates with the police department’s community-centric initiatives. "We were grateful to be included in the event and to support the Center’s mission," Captain Sweeney mentioned, underscoring the cross-sector collaboration that hallmark a healthy community.
