
Brigham City authorities are conducting a homicide investigation following the shocking discovery of human remains in a trash bag by a construction crew. As reported by KSL, the gruesome find was made Wednesday afternoon near 2600 West on State Route 13. Workers were alerted to the presence of hair and bones inside the bag, leading to the involvement of the local police.
Upon their arrival, Brigham City police officers verified the human nature of the bag's contents and are treating the incident as a homicide. As detailed by FOX 13, Brigham City Police Chief Chad Reyes reflected on the severity of the case and his commitment to a thorough investigation, stating, "This a extremely sad and unusual case, I want to make sure we conduct a very thorough investigation and get justice for this victim."
Residents Joey Sandoval and Susie Esparza, whose residence lies in proximity to the discovery site, revealed to KUTV their astonishment and discomfort at the news noting the rarity of such events in their small community, Sandoval described the situation as "creepy" while Esparza expressed shock that something so grim could transpire so close to home, "Right across the street from my house, it’s like wow we don’t see things like that," as noted by KUTV.
