Malik Washington, 23, was apprehended on April 23, 2025, following a meticulous investigative process that led authorities to his location on the 2600 block of S. California.
The charges leveled against Washington are severe; he faces one felony count of "Murder - Strong Probability Death / Injure" alongside another count for "Attempt - Robbery - Armed with Firearm," reflecting the grave nature of the crimes of which he is accused. This follows an incident that occurred on a train platform in the 400 block of S. Western, part of the 11th district, where a 16-year-old male was shot and injured amidst an attempted robbery.
