The Chicago Police Department is requesting the public's help in locating Ahmeeka Smith, a 54-year-old woman who has been missing since the first of April this year. Smith, who was last seen in the vicinity of the 6500 block of South Lowe, is described as a female standing five feet and six inches tall, weighing 210 pounds with brown eyes and black hair, and having a medium complexion, according to the CPD's official report.
As it currently stands the Chicago Police's Special Victims Unit for Area One, the unit that is responsible for her case, has not provided any specific details about what she might have been wearing the day she disappeared and have not indicated whether Smith is believed to be in any immediate danger or not.
The lack of known circumstances leading up to Smith's disappearance contributes to the difficulties being faced by investigators. Chicago law enforcement officials are therefore urging the community to aid in their efforts by being vigilant and report any information that may be related to this case. Individuals with potential leads or sightings are encouraged to contact the Area 1 S.V.U. at 312-747-8380, or dial 911 for immediate assistance.
