Fullerton Ave. in Belmont Central, where the offenders struck at approximately 4:50 a.m.; the acts were bold, carried out in darkness that's held tight to these streets before the break of dawn. The suspects, described as three individuals aged between 16 to 25 years old, have yet to be apprehended by law enforcement.
In an effort to prevent further losses, the authorities are urging local businesses to take precautionary measures, including maintaining well-lit perimeters and sturdy doors and windows. Business owners are also being encouraged to report any suspicious activity and ensure that surveillance systems are operational, securing footage that could aid in investigations.
For victims of such crimes, the Chicago Police stress the importance of minimizing disturbance to the crime scene, "If you are a victim do not touch anything, call police immediately," and if possible, to obtain contact information from any witnesses.
