According to FOX10 Phoenix, the collision occurred around 1 p.m. at the intersection of Baseline and Gilbert roads as the victim, identified only as an adult female, was making a left turn from a business complex into ongoing traffic. "Preliminary information indicates the collision occurred when an adult female driver made a left turn onto Gilbert Road at a traffic light," Gilbert Police spokesperson Brenda Carrasco related the details of the crash.
