A disturbing discovery at Fremont's Centerville Train Station has prompted an investigation by the Fremont Police Department after a decapitated and eviscerated animal was found on a park bench. According to Hoodline, the gruesome scene was reported to police around 2:30 PM on Sunday, with additional bags containing another animal and what appeared to be entrails located nearby.
The species of the animals could not immediately be determined, leaving authorities to quickly begin an effort to understand the origin and nature of these morbid findings. Fremont Police Department has relayed that a forensic veterinarian has been recruited to help ascertain the species and investigate further. Information regarding the progress of the investigation was shared by the Fremont Police Department, which informed that “A forensic veterinarian examined the animal remains, and unfortunately, the findings are inconclusive at this time.”
The Police Department is routing the remains to a specialized facility for additional analysis and DNA testing. The community has been left alarmed, and the Police are urging anyone who has useful information to come forward. An active appeal has been made to the public for assistance, with Fremont Police suggesting that anyone with details pertinent to this case get in touch with Fremont Animal Services and speak with Sgt Ceniceros directly.
