
A violent encounter between two groups in Downtown Miami resulted in gunfire and left one individual critically wounded last night, authorities reported. The incident took place just before the 11 p.m. mark near 150 NE 8th St., an address known to house a bowling alley, bars, and restaurants. According to NBC Miami, a confrontation initiated within the establishment spilled into the streets.
"Two groups were involved in a physical altercation inside of the location. As both groups exited the location the altercation escalated at which point a shooting occurred," a spokesperson for the Miami Police Department relayed in an email to Local 10 News. The victim was subsequently rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center, where they are listed in critical, yet stable condition.
