
The City of Homestead is gearing up to pay homage to those who have donned uniforms and stood guard over our nation's security and ideals. Homestead's upcoming 12th Annual Military Appreciation Day is slated to take place on Saturday, May 31, from 5PM to 9PM at Losner Park, as shared on the city's official website.
Attendees can expect to actively engage in numerous patriotic-themed activities. The evening features live music to keep to entertain guests entertained, and the opportunity to step back into the visceral history of combat with a military battle reenactment. There's also gonna be the traditional showcase of military display vehicles for those interested in the might and mechanics of military hardware. Furthermore, a thoughtful touch allows for guests to pen heartfelt tributes through "Letters to Military Stations", messages aimed at reaching those currently deployed. Food trucks and vendors will also be on-site, offering up a variety of local cuisines.
Mayor Steve Losner, holding a torch for both his community and the steadfast protectors of the nation, expressed his profound respect for the occasion, "Military Appreciation Day is one of our most meaningful events," he echoed, continuing with, "Now in its 12th year, it continues to bring our community together to recognize the selfless service of those who protect our freedom and highlights Homestead’s deep connection to the military."
