An investigation is actively underway in Cornelius following the discovery of four deceased individuals in a home on Tuesday afternoon. The Washington County Sheriff's Office (WCSO) reported that deputies were dispatched to a residence near the 300 block of North 15th Avenue at approximately 3:03 p.m., after receiving a distressing 911 call about the fatalities.
Upon arrival, law enforcement officers found the bodies of a 37-year-old woman and her three children, aged 2, 5, and 7. The names of the victims have not yet been released as authorities continue their investigation. The WCSO's Violent Crimes Unit is working in collaboration with deputies to determine the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
Detectives have emphasized that there is no immediate threat to public safety related to the incident. While details remain scarce, the WCSO is urging anyone with information that could assist in the investigation to come forward.
