A man was hastily transported to Broward Health Medical Center after his vehicle found its despairing final movements sinking into Fort Lauderdale's New River. WSVN reported that the incident occurred near the SW 4th Ave/Avenue of the Arts drawbridge around 2:15 a.m., yesterday.
Despite the vehicle's desperate plunge, not visible from the surface, Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue teams answered the early morning call. According to the report, the responders, only after dispatching divers into the murky depths, uncovered the vehicle and the man trapped within.
Local 10 confirmed that upon locating the man, CPR was promptly administered as they rushed him to the hospital, casting a thin veil of hope over the grim scene of that unforgiving hour. The current state of the man's well-being has not been declared, shrouded in the uncertainty that often follows such harrowing ordeals.
