A man was shot in the leg following a car accident and subsequent altercation in Walnut Park West, according to a report from St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD). The incident unfolded yesterday just before 3 p.m. near Floy & Leonora Avenues.
Reports indicate that a 46-year-old man, alongside a 35-year-old and a 15-year-old, were in a vehicle on Leonora when a collision with a gray vehicle occurred, leading to a hostile encounter and shots fired — the older man was struck by gunfire after exiting the car. The man was subsequently taken to the hospital, and no injuries were reported for the other two individuals in the vehicle, this narrative emerging from an ongoing investigation by the sixth district of the SLMPD.
The situation escalated when an unidentified male, claiming his sister was involved in the crash, began shooting at the 46-year-old victim. The other individuals present during the shooting, a 35-year-old man and the teenager, were not harmed.
