Earlier today, a fire broke out at the Stone Ends Apartments in Stoughton, causing significant damage and displacing numerous families. According to Boston 25 News, the blaze, which started on a third-floor balcony, quickly spread to the building's attic and led to a partial roof collapse. Tragically, at least two dozen families have found themselves without a home as a result of the incident.
The Stoughton Fire Department was on the scene at around 1 a.m. and mounted a four-alarm response to tackle the fire. The flames were initially intense and visible at the roof of one of the complexes when the fire services arrived, necessitating an attack from ladder trucks on all sides of the building. A firefighter suffered injuries during the operation and was subsequently hospitalized. The Red Cross is providing assistance to the 24 families now facing the hardship of displacement. Officials are still investigating the origin of the catastrophic event.

There were no reported injuries among the apartment complex residents.
