Miami commuters may face delays this afternoon as President Donald Trump is scheduled to land at Miami International Airport around 4:35 p.m. before heading to the LIV Golf event at his Doral resort. As reported by the Miami Herald, traffic disruptions are expected near Trump National Doral Miami, with potential closures near the venue on Northwest 36th Street, affecting both eastbound and westbound lanes.
While specific traffic advisories have not yet been issued, the congestion is expected to build as the tournament begins. The Miami Herald also reported that a U.S. Marine Corps helicopter was seen landing at the ninth hole at Trump National Doral, possibly as a dry run for the president's arrival.
Trump is not confirmed to participate in the Pro-Am event today, but he has attended in previous years, sparking speculation. After the tournament, Trump is expected to travel to Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, which will result in temporary flight restrictions and road closures, including the closure of South Ocean Boulevard today. This visit marks Trump’s ninth to South Florida since his inauguration.
The Palm Beach Post notes that Trump has frequently visited the area, with his most recent appearance being a golf tournament with Finnish President Alexander Stubb at his West Palm Beach course.
