Miami-Dade’s Community Action and Human Services Department (CAHSD) has successfully renewed its accreditation for another five years, earning recognition from the Council on Accreditation (COA). CAHSD, previously known as the Miami-Dade County Department of Human Services, has been accredited since 2003 and continues to meet COA’s standards for public service best practices.
As per the Miami-Dade County release, the department provides essential services to individuals and families in Miami-Dade County, including domestic violence shelters, rehabilitation centers, adult day care, and mental health services. Mayor Daniella Levine Cava emphasized the department’s commitment to delivering high-quality, life-changing services to residents.
Achieving COA accreditation requires meeting rigorous standards in case management, program delivery, and administrative practices to ensure the department can effectively support those in need. CAHSD director Sonia Grice expressed pride in the department’s continued recognition after a thorough peer review.
