The Jackson Health Foundation is set to host its second "One Day for Jackson" today to raise funds and awareness for the Jackson Health System. According to Local10, the event will feature various activities, including ticketed events and partnerships with local businesses like Chick-fil-A and Sushi Maki.
"Proceeds from the campaign’s efforts will help support Jackson in providing the most advanced treatments, innovative technology, and cutting-edge facilities to give patients their lives back," the foundation said in a news release, as reported by Local 10. Flavia Llizo, CEO of the foundation, emphasized the importance of the event, stating, "“By supporting Jackson you are investing in the health and well-being of our entire community. Your generosity helps ensure that world-class healthcare remains accessible to all Miami-Dade County residents, regardless of their ability to pay. Every dollar makes a meaningful impact in transforming lives and strengthening our community."
After raising over $550,000 in its first year, the foundation aims to reach $1 million this year. Sponsors include Bank of America, Florida National University, and River Landing Shops & Residences. The Jackson Health Foundation also encouraged the community to participate via their Instagram page, stating, "Get ready—tomorrow is One Day For Jackson! Your contribution on April 3 will have a lasting impact on Jackson Health System and our community."
