A motorcyclist has sustained "life-threatening" injuries after being involved in a vehicular accident on Kendall Drive, Miami-Dade. According to reporting by Local 10, the crash took place just after 12:30 p.m. today near Southwest 125th Avenue.
The Florida Highway Patrol shared details of the incident explaining how the motorcyclist seems to have collided with the rear of a stationary pickup truck at a red light. The rider's injuries were described as critical as he was quickly shuttled to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, NBC Miami obtained aerial footage of the scene through Chopper 6, which displayed the motorcycle wedged partially under the back end of the Nissan pickup truck, amid visible pools of blood. At this time, the authorities have not released the identity of the injured individual.
Following the collision, several eastbound lanes on Kendall Drive were closed, affecting traffic flow in the area. As officials continue investigating the crash, details around the event remain preliminary.
