Detectives have revealed the identities of two individuals found dead in what appears to be a murder-suicide at a Glengarry Drive apartment on Monday afternoon. The incident involved 35-year-old Merlin Nataren and her 27-year-old boyfriend, Jovanni Antonio Machado Portillo. According to information obtained by the Nashville Police Department, the couple was found in the bedroom, with Nataren having suffered multiple gunshot wounds and Portillo dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. A handgun was found beneath Portillo's hand.
Nataren's family, who hadn't heard from her since late Sunday night, made the sad discovery when they arrived at Portillo's apartment. The Nashville Police Department said there was no history of domestic violence between the two, adding to the shock of the situation. Investigations into what led to the tragedy are still ongoing.
