A 17-year-old suspected in a shooting that took place earlier this month and an aggravated robbery has been apprehended. The teenager, identified as Kingston Rice, was arrested following a brief chase by TITANS Unit detectives on Batavia Street, as reported by the Nashville Police Department.
Rice was wanted for his alleged involvement in an April 7 car burglary on Smokey Hill Road, which spiraled into violence when the owner of the vehicle and his brother attempted to intervene, resulting in the brother being shot in the chest. Fortunately, he survived his injuries. Rice's identity as one of the suspects came to light after his phone was discovered at the scene of the crime.
Further inquiry into Rice's activities revealed his admission to participating in an April 23 aggravated robbery, which took place at R Market on 40th Avenue North. The victim of this crime was coerced at gunpoint and assaulted during the altercation, experiencing a pistol-whipping as detailed in the statement from the victim.
In the wake of these events, Rice now faces numerous charges. According to the juvenile court records, he has been charged with three counts of aggravated robbery, two counts of attempted homicide, and burglary.
