North Miami is celebrating the start of the Cagni Park North Construction Project with a groundbreaking ceremony today from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at 791 NE 135th Street. The event is hosted by Councilwoman Mary Estimé-Irvin of District 3 and marks the beginning of a redevelopment effort led by the City of North Miami, Miami-Dade County, Miami-Dade County Public Schools Board, and KVC Constructors.

According to the City of North Miami, the project will improve the park with new facilities including an aquatic center, multi-purpose field, and more green spaces. It is designed to support family and youth activities, promote community connections, and encourage active lifestyles. The first phase of the project is set to be completed by June 2026.

The redevelopment also includes energy-efficient features, eco-friendly landscaping, and ADA-compliant facilities. Additionally, a local hiring plan has been implemented to create job opportunities for North Miami residents.
