An Ogden community has been shaken following the death of a 40-year-old woman who was found late Wednesday night with a gunshot wound. According to ABC4, police confirmed on Thursday morning that the victim, who had been discovered injured the previous night, did not survive her injuries after being taken to the hospital.
The incident took place in the 400 block of 800 North, where Ogden police received a call just after 9:00 p.m., FOX13 reported, arriving officers found the woman lying in the street with a chest wound and despite their urgent efforts and the swift medical response she could not be saved, the woman's name has been withheld as the investigation remains ongoing, in its early stages.
While many questions still hang heavy over the city, the Ogden Police Department has not disclosed if the shooting was a result of domestic violence or if the woman was targeted, maintaining that the case is "an active investigation." An officer declined to address these queries when approached by KUTV, also asserting that, according to their evaluation, there is no immediate danger to the public.
