Earlier yesterday, an auto dealership in Oakland Park became the site of an overnight fire, resulting in six vehicles being scorched. The incident unfolded at NEXCAR, situated at 2900 West Oakland Park Boulevard, where Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies and Oakland Park Fire Rescue units responded to emergency calls, WSVN reported.
The blaze was swiftly brought under control by crews who arrived on scene, understanding the urgency but no injuries were reported in the fire which saw some vehicles with their windows busted out, as Local 10 News described it, authorities blocked the road for a time to manage the situation. Investigators have not yet determined the cause of the fire, and it is unclear at this point whether arson is a factor, something still under scrutiny by local officials.
While the dealership faced significant damage, no personnel or bystanders were harmed during the incident. The swift reaction of the firefighters mitigated what could have potentially escalated into a more widespread danger.
In wake of the event, the investigative teams are piecing together evidence to establish the origin of the fire, which had engulfed a portion of the dealership's inventory with flames, creating a stark reminder of the suddenness with which calamity can strike, even in the seeming tranquility of night when roads are empty and commerce is paused, the authorities have yet to release further details on the ongoing investigation at this time.
