Miami Police are actively investigating a shooting incident that occurred early this morning, leaving two male individuals injured in Miami's Overtown neighborhood. According to authorities, the shooting was reported around 12:45 a.m. near the intersection of 1740 NW Fifth Ave. Officers who arrived on scene found one man shot while the other seemed to have been grazed by a bullet, as Local10 reported.
According to NBC Miami, Miami Fire Rescue quickly transported the more seriously injured victim to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition. The second victim's injuries were less severe, though details have not been fully disclosed. The incident took place in Overtown.
At the scene, law enforcement and crime scene investigators secured the area with police tape. Investigators spent hours collecting evidence and marking the crime scene, as per the WSVN report.
Miami Police Department is urging anyone with information about the shooting to step forward. Informants may possibly be eligible for a reward up to $5,000 for information that significantly aids in the investigation.
