This incident took place in the vicinity of the 3700 block of Northwest 199th Street just after 3 a.m., as reported by Local 10. Following reports of gunfire, authorities arrived to discover the aforementioned vehicle fully engulfed in flames.
According to a store clerk at a nearby Marathon gas station, the incident did not occur at the gas station itself, but rather as a man drove down 199th Street and was shot at, resulting in crashing into a pole near the location. "Between six to eight gunshots," were heard, the clerk told Local 10. No driver was found at the scene as Miami-Dade firefighters managed to extinguish the vehicle fire.
As the investigation unfolds, NBC6 observed the burnt-out car with shattered windows, citing the visual and olfactory evidence of the incident. Video footage showed the car riddled with bullet holes, as well as the continued investigation activities near the Marathon gas station.
