
A rollover crash involving a Utility Task Vehicle (UTV) resulted in three people being injured on Saturday in unincorporated Cary, as NBC Chicago reports. The Cary Fire Protection District received a call and dispatched to the scene in the 7100 block of S. Rawson Bridge Road, following the incident which occurred just after 2:30 p.m. where they found the UTV overturned and an adult male trapped beneath it.
Upon arrival, firefighters worked to free the man while the two other passengers, both juveniles, had managed to get clear of the wreckage but were still evaluated for injuries at the crash site, firefighters extricated the man from underneath the vehicle then they evaluated him along with the two juveniles for their injuries the whole group then was transported for further care to Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, which was confirmed by FOX 32 Chicago in their coverage of the event.
The injuries sustained by all involved were reported as minor. "We are thankful that the outcome of this crash resulted in non-life-threatening injuries," said Cary Fire Chief Brad Delatorre in a statement obtained by NBC Chicago. Delatorre also used this incident to caution residents about the use of off-road vehicles and watercraft, especially as warmer weather tends to increase such leisure activities, which can quickly become dangerous.
As for the cause of the accident, it remains under investigation, the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office is presently investigating the cause of the crash and no additional information has been made public at this time, further developments in the case will likely provide insight into the circumstances that led up to the traumatic rollover of the UTV.
