The City has initiated a temporary closure of a stretch between Cottonwood Park and 700 North, embarking on a multi-faceted project to address environmental issues, tackle infrastructure woes, and increase public safety, as reported by Salt Lake City. Prompted by heightened instances of environmental damage and illegal activities, the action aims to reclaim these public spaces for safe and sustainable enjoyment by the community.
Over the upcoming months, trail-goers will be diverted through a designated detour running from the Jordan River Trail at 800 North to Chaz Court. In the meantime, Salt Lake City's Department of Public Lands, in conjunction with local law enforcement and other agencies, orchestrates a series of improvements.
