A man was arrested on April 3 following an altercation in the parking lot of a Colma Target. The incident, which occurred at around 7:23 PM, began as a verbal confrontation and quickly escalated when the man reportedly punched the victim in the face, according to a social media post from the Colma Police Department.
Upon arrival, Colma officers encountered the unnamed victim, who detailed the assault, saying the suspect blocked his vehicle with his own, initiated a heated exchange, and subsequently delivered two punches to his face before walking off; the victim sustained minor injuries and refused medical care at the scene. The suspect, identified as 32-year-old Henry Zhang of San Francisco, would return to the premises as police interviewed the victim, leading to his immediate detention.
Determined to press charges, the victim facilitated Zhang's arrest, with the authorities confirming his booking into the San Mateo County Jail on battery charges. The Colma Police Department's post documented the event as part of their "Misdemeanor Monday" series.
