
A recent report from the Colma Police Department, shared via their social media, revealed a shoplifting incident at a local Marshalls. The Colma Police were dispatched to the Marshalls, located at 65 Colma Boulevard, following a theft report on April 6 at approximately 9:12 PM.
Upon arrival, officers detained a male suspect whom the store's loss prevention team had caught. The suspect had tried to make off with merchandise valued at around $71.04. In the progression of the incident, the man informed the officers that he had ingested narcotics around 20 minutes before their interaction, prompting a response from the Colma Fire Department to assess his condition.
The social media post by the Colma Police Department identified the suspect as 30-year-old Justin Mendonca, a resident of San Jose. Mendonca was subsequently arrested for shoplifting and given a citation with charges, but was released on his pledge to appear in court.
Following the arrest, Mendonca's condition necessitated medical attention. He was transported to the hospital by an American Medical Response (AMR) ambulance, where his condition was further evaluated.
