
Last Friday evening, a severe accident involving a truck and a motorcycle left one person seriously injured in Salt Lake City's Ballpark neighborhood. According to FOX 13, at approximately 6:50 p.m., a collision occurred at the intersection of 1300 South State Street. The motorcycle was heading north on State Street when it was struck by a truck making a left turn.
The aftermath of the crash was a chaotic scene with emergency personnel tending to a young woman found lying on the ground. As per KUTV, the woman, in her 30s, sustained critical and potentially life-threatening injuries. She was promptly transported to an area hospital for immediate medical attention. The specific condition of the woman is yet to be updated, but the gravity of her injuries necessitates an in-depth investigation by the authorities.
The Salt Lake City Police Department (SLCPD), along with the Salt Lake City Fire Department and Gold Cross responders, are leading the investigation into the accident's cause. As reported by ABC4, the truck was turning east onto 1300 South at the same time as the motorcyclist was proceeding northbound on State Street, all circumstances surrounding this event are under scrutiny.
Motorists in the area were faced with substantial traffic disruptions following the incident. Officials recommended alternate routes, directing drivers to use Main Street for north and southbound traffic, and 1700 South or 900 South for east and westbound detours.
